  1. LOVED hearing this again even though I’ve been practicing my Feb 1st New Years for several years now. But I never associated my post holiday “impulse shopping” with feeling depleted!! I recently used the word drained to describe entering this new year, depleted is certainly how I feel after living our first 14 months in our latest fixer-upper while simultaneously becoming a multi generational family “pod”. Hence the new house, they live in our guest house. Every level of every emotion or physical ability is depleted, nothing escaped the wear and tear 🤨 so I decided this year HOBBIES seriously need to come back into my lifestyle or I’ll go insane. Last weekend I spent many hours pursuing on line decorative painting resources and put well over $100 worth in my virtual cart. 🤦🏻‍♀️ while listening to your podcast the next day a light bulb clicked on. Not only did it explain my behavior, it allowed me to give grace to the accompanying shame, which is of much greater value to me than the dollars. I went back to my cart the following morning with intention, considering needs and expectations in a healthy manner. THANK YOU. now I have the freedom to buy what I think I’ll need and (fully) enjoy painting.
